Kintsugi 金継ぎ

Kintsugi is one of my favourite words. It has a beautiful sound to it. And the Japanese lettering is always magnificient, because it’s so mysterious.

I’m a broken pottery myself. Kintsugi. Completely broken. And cracked. But mendable. With gold, with silver, with precious metals. My cracks are part of my history, they’ve made me who I am. I’m not hiding those cracks anymore, I don’t care. I know I have OCD and anxiety and I overthink too much. The world may know it too. As long as I know who I am. And that, I do know. I’m completely broken and shattered and torn to bits and pieces but I managed to glue them back together. It took a very long time. But I managed and I survived. I’m still breathing. And I’ve repaired myself, with gold.

Kintsugi, that’s how I feel. Golden.

Golden & shining & strong.
